Born in 1984 in Vladivostok, Russia, Svetlana Kochergina currently lives and works in Paris. After graduating from Sorbonne University in Fine Arts, she continues to explore oil painting in all shapes and forms. Her figurative works address the notion of myth in postmodern society and combine romantic and skeptical, dreamlike and dramatic, gloomy and optimistic moods. Filled with quiet tenderness & brought to life by artist’s strong bond with nature, these pictures have layers of meaning: political, social, ethical or philosophical.
